WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING IN THE MONKEY HOUSE ?

CHARITY INTERCLUB DAY

The Interclub day was a great success with 72 riders from 10 different clubs all coming together to raise over £600 for our charity of the year St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) who recently spent money on gardening equipment for a local women's refuge, a day trip to Stratford for older people in sheltered accommodation, and a trip to Weston Super Mare for kids from Kings Heath and Druids Heath who can't afford a holiday.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated raffle prizes - Hare & Hounds Kings Heath, La Sante, Greidys, Coach and Horses at Weatheroak, More Than A Cyclist, Richard Bates and Rob Anderson , and for Rob and Emma Jackson Silversoles for running the raffle.

Thank you to our volunteer ride leaders who led groups of various speeds on the day, and thank you, the riders from the following clubs for joining us - BRAT Club , Moseley Missiles, Cannon Hill cycling Club, BMC in two wheels we trust, Sette Dodici, Solihull Triathlon Club, kings heath park CC , Cardiff University , Small Steps and obviously GCC.

BIKE PROJECT

As you may know in previous years The Bike Project has been the recipient of any left over cycling bric-a-brac ( as the cafe's old mechanic Josh works there now, as does one of our own - Oli Cox). This year we didn't have a stall , but we didn't want the bike project to miss out, so if you have any old bike - whatever condition - just taking up space in a shed of garage I suggest you head to [https://thebikeproject.co.uk/donate-bike/](https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/...) to find your nearest Drop-off Point and register your bike for donation.

If you have any questions, send an email to [bikedonations@thebikeproject.co.uk](mailto:bikedonations@thebikeproject.co.uk).

GORILLA ENDURANCE

There were a number of Gorillas putting in 200km+ rides in the heat over the weekend:

Arlando Thompson rode 230km up in Shropshire on Sunday.

Oliver Agar tried to reverse the Grand Day out route - and found it sent him up a 17% incline as part of the 211km - adding in total about 700m elevation from the "correct" way round.

Whilst the originator of the GDO, Neil Cocklin cocked up another 207km on Saturday.

And Páraic Scanlon rode from coast to coast in Ireland - 202km.

Well done all of you !

GORILLA RACING

We had a couple of pairs enter the Beacon Roads Cycling Club 2 up TT last Tuesday. Blake Timmins and Graeme came 2nd in 24;23, and Paul Astin and Kelly Baker came 4th in 27;09. Chapeau
