Spring Team Time Trial – Event Rules
Event Dates: Thursday 21st May – Monday 25th May
Location: Earlswood / Hockley Heath (Broad Lane course)
Format: 4 rider Team Time Trial (TTT)
Distance: 10 miles
The Gorilla CC Team Time Trial is designed to maximise participation, inclusion, and teambuilding, while keeping the competition meaningful and unpredictable. Outcomes should not be obvious at the outset, and teams are encouraged to think creatively when forming squads.
Route
The route this year is the 2020 Tour de Gorilla ITT.
Teams
Teams consist of 4 riders.
Teams may be single sex or mixed sex.
There is no restriction on age or ability combinations.
Ride Time
The team’s ride time is taken on the 3rd rider across the line.
Only one rider may be dropped without penalty. Anymore will incur a DNF result.
Rider Ability Bands
Each rider must self select one ability band when entering. This system replaces the use of historic Strava times or formal TT results.
Team Ability Handicap
Each team receives a time handicap, calculated as the sum of the four riders’ band handicaps.
